Custom Wheel/Rim Powder Coating

Custom Wheel/Rim Powder Coating

AWRS of WI is Wisconsin's Wheel/Rim Powder Coating Experts

*Powder coating can usually be done same day. Drop off at 8am and pickup later that same day.

Powder coating is the most durable finish that can be applied to today's wheels. With thousands of colors available we can customize your wheels just about any way you can image. At AWRS of Wisconsin we only use the best powders and equipment available. We always coat the whole wheel - not just the face - finish with a powder clear coat and include a 3 year limited warranty

Rim Powder Coating Services

Powder coating requires a different process than traditional rim painting or spraying. The end result is more visually appealing and durable than paint, but it requires an experienced technician to avoid many potential mistakes. The best process relies heavily on preparation and attention to detail.

Initially, the tires and TPMS sensors are removed. The wheels can then be thoroughly cleaned, and all outer coatings stripped away using a chemical process. Before the next stage can begin, your wheels are inspected for any cracks, marks or other issues that would interfere with the end product.

The wheel custom coloring stage requires electrostatically charged pigments to be sprayed onto the wheels. The powder coat particles form an even layer that bonds to the entire wheel. The wheels are then cured in an oven to create a smooth, tough finish. Additionally, a powder clear coat is added to the entire wheel to protect the powder coat and provide long-lasting durability especially in Wisconsin's tough winters.

After the wheels have cooled, they can be inspected for any imperfections. When they have passed inspection, the wheels and tires are remounted and Road Force balanced. All of this can usually be done in 1 day.
